The Irish team is currently touring the Caribbean for 3-match T20 series against the West Indies. In the first T20 match of the series, the visitors won the match by 4 runs in the last over. Paul sterling was adjudged 'Man of the Match' for his blistering innings.


In this nail-biting match, the Irish team won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, Ireland had a wonderful start, both the openers Paul Sterling and Kevin O'Brien added 154 runs for the opening wicket.
Kevin O'Brien scored 48 off 32, while Paul Sterling played his career-best innings, he scored 95 runs off 47 balls, which includes 7 fours and 8 sixes.


Although he missed out on scoring a century, his innings helped Ireland to score huge 208/7 in 20 overs. For West Indies, Sheldon Cottrell, Khary Pierre, and DJ Bravo took 2 wickets each.
In response to the massive target, the West Indies lost the first wicket at the score of 37. Later, Lewis and Hetmyer added 56 runs for the second wicket. Lewis scored 52 off 29 and Hetmyer contributed 28 off 18.

After that, Pollard (31), Pooran (26) and Rutherford (26) took the Windies score close to Ireland's target but it was not enough at the end. For Ireland, Joshua Little took 3 wickets and Craig Young took 2 wickets.

For Windies, DJ Bravo and Rutherford were at the crease facing Joshua Little. On the first ball of the last over, Joshua Little dismissed Rutherford and completely changed the game, but in the very next ball, Bravo smashed him for a huge six.

On third delivery of the over, DJ Bravo took a double and the fourth delivery was a dot ball, which changed the equation to 5 runs in 2 balls. On the next ball, Bravo was dismissed when trying to hit a big six, needing 5 runs of the last ball, Joshua bowled a perfect yorker to seal the victory by 4 runs.
