The ICC U-19 World Cup will begin with the opening encounter between host South Africa and Afghanistan on 17 January. While, India's U-19 team will start its campaign against Sri Lanka on 19 January, Sunday at the Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein.
India is placed in Group A and will face New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Japan, who are making their first appearance in ICC World Cup and will be headed by Priyam Garg.
India is the most successful team in this tournament, having won four titles so far, including the last edition in 2018, when the Prithvi Shaw led team defeated Australia by eight wickets in the final.
After playing against Sri Lanka in their first group match, India will face Japan in their second match on 21 January and New Zealand on 24 January in their final group match.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super League stage. The final of the tournament will be played on 09 February at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom.
