PAK vs BAN, 2nd T20: Pakistan thrashed Bangladesh by 9 wickets, becomes 1st team to achieve this record



In the 2nd T20Is match of the 3-match series between Pakistan and Bangladesh which was played in Lahore's Gaddafi Cricket Stadium on 25 January.


In this match, the Pakistani team outplayed the visitors in all 3 departments and won the match one-sidedly by 9 wickets and pocketed the series by taking 2-0 lead. This is Pakistan's first T20I series victory since October 2018.

Pakistan's new skipper Babar Azam scored a fantastic half-century, he scored 66 runs off 44 balls and was adjudged 'Player of the Match' award for his match-winning knock.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, Bangladesh could not take much advantage and managed only 136/6 in 20 overs. Tamim Iqbal batted well and scored 65 off 53 balls. For Pakistan, Mohammed Hasnain took 2 wickets for 20 runs.

In response, Pakistan lost the earlier wicket of Ahsan Ali at the score of 6 in the second over. But Captain Babar Azam (66*) & Mohammed Hafeez (67*) added 131 runs for the second wicket and achieved the target with 20 balls to spare.

1. Pakistan becomes the first team to achieve this record:

After taking 6 wickets in the Bangladesh innings, Team Pakistan completed 900 wickets in T20 Internationals. With this record, they have become the first team to take 900 wickets in T20 Internationals.

2. Hafeez becomes the first Pakistani player to achieve this record:

Veteran player Mohammed Hafeez scored 67 off 47 deliveries which also includes 9 fours and 1 six. With this knock, Hafeez completed 200 fours in T20 Internationals and became the first Pakistani player to achieve this milestone.
