Indian women's team announced for T20 World Cup, Harmanpreet will lead the team

World Women's T20: BCCI has announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming women's T20 world cup in Australia. The selection committee has named Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana has captain and vice-captain of the team respectively.

Surprisingly, the selection panel has dropped Priya Punia who performed really well in the recently concluded Women's Challenger T20 Trophy.

Punia was the second-highest run-scorer with 119 runs in 3 matches at a strike rate of 116.67. However, Shafali Verma was the highest run-scorer with 189 runs from 5 matches at the strike-rate of 156.20.

At the same time, Richa Ghosh got her first call at the international level. She came into headlines in the same tournament with her superb hitting skills, she was praised many times for the ability she posses to attack the bowlers in the middle overs.
