U19 World Cup 2020: Afghanistan's team announced for Under-19 World Cup

The Afghanistan team has been announced for the Under-19 Cricket World Cup which is to be held in South Africa in January-February next year. Opener Farhan Zakhil has been given the captaincy of the team.

16-year-old Farhan has played 13 first-class matches so far, with 3 centuries to his name. He made his debut in under-19 cricket against India in March this year. Apart from this, he also captained the team in the Under-19 Asia Cup. After this, he was also the captain of Afghanistan Under-19 team in the recent ODI series against India.

Apart from him, players like Ibrahim Zadran are also part of the team. Ibrahim Zadran had scored 87 runs in his debut Test match against Bangladesh. Apart from this, all-rounder Abi Mohammad has also been included in the team. He had taken 4 wickets in the ODI match played against India in Lucknow recently.

The Under-19 World Cup will begin on January 17 and Afghanistan will play their first match against hosts South Africa.
