The 12th season of the Indian Premier League will start from 23rd March, Saturday. The season opener will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai.
Even after the presence of big stars like Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Dale Steyn, Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers. But, the overall team's performance remained below par in the majority of the seasons.
In 2012 and 2013 they finished at fifth spot and in 2014 ended at seventh place and eliminated in playoffs in 2015. RCB had the best season in 2016 and almost won the title but lost the match in finals. And in 2017 and 2018, the team was left behind at eight and sixth place respectively.
