Former Australian player Mike Hussey selected his best Test XI. Mr Cricket picked the players on the basis of with whom he has played in his cricket career. Hussey played cricket for Australia from 2005 to 2013.
Hussey included 3 Indian cricketers in his team, but the surprising thing was that he did not pick MS Dhoni.
Mike Hussey's Test XI line-up:
Virender Sehwag and former South Africa captain Graeme Smith have been picked in the team as the openers. While in the middle order, Hussey has gone with Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Jacques Kallis and Kumar Sangakkara.
Strategically, Hussey has placed Tendulkar and Kohli at number four and five in the batting order. While, the bowling attack includes South Africa's Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, England's James Anderson and Sri Lankan legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.
Hussey selects Sangakkara over Dhoni:
Hussey said it was difficult to keep Dhoni out of the team. He, however, justified his decision as he preferred Sangakkara over Dhoni given the long format of the game. Hussey said, 'I believe that Dhoni and de Villiers have made more impact in T20 and ODIs. Sangakkara has made a great impact in Test cricket.
When asked about facing bowlers like Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne and Brett Lee on the nets, Hussey said it was very difficult. He said, 'If you faced the net session easily, then you can overcome any situation in Test cricket. Australia cricket was the strongest team when I played.
