ICC announced the list of umpires for U-19 World Cup, Indian umpire included

The ICC has announced the officials for the upcoming ICC Under-19 World Cup, which starts from 17 January in South Africa.

The mega tournaments will consist of a total of 19 matches, for which the ICC has released a list of 16 officials and this list includes one Indian umpire which is none other than Anil Chaudhary.

The 54-year-old Anil Chaudhary is umpiring in the ongoing T20 series against Sri Lanka. He has officiated in 20 ODIs and 27 T20Is so far and also he has been part of U19 world cup officials in the last edition.
The first match of the ICC U-19 World Cup will be played between the hosts South Africa and Afghanistan on 17th January. For this match, Wayne Knight of New Zealand and Ravindra Wimalasiri of Sri Lanka have been named as the umpires, while Rashid Riaz Waqar will be the TV umpire.

Veteran Umpire Ian Gould will also officiate in this World cup, he will take the role of the umpire in the important match between defending champions India in Sri Lanka. Let me remind you, Ian Gould had retired from umpiring after the World Cup last year in England.

Apart from umpires, The ICC has selected three-match referees for the tournament which includes former Sri Lankan fast bowler Graeme Labrooy, South Africa's Shaid Wadvalla, and England's Phil Whitticase.
