BREAKING : Yuvraj becomes the most searched player in 2019, This player left Kohli-Dhoni behind

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh proved to be the most searched player in the country in the year 2019. Yuvraj Singh, who was India's hero in the World Cup 2011, announced his retirement from international cricket on 10 June this year.

His career lasted for almost two decades. He was the hottest topic after announcing his retirement and he also became the first player from India to play in the Canada T20 Blast.

Yuvraj made his ODI debut for India in 2000 against Kenya in Nairobi. The 37-year-old made his Test debut against New Zealand three years later. Overall, he has played 40 Tests and scored 1900 runs at 33.9 with three centuries and 11 fifties. Yuvraj last played for India was in the ODI against the West Indies in 2017.

According to data released by search engine giant Google, the Punjab cricketer ranked third in the highest Google-ranked personality in the country in 2019.

Abhiyanandan Varthaman, the pilot wing commander of the Indian Air Force tops the list. This is followed by veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar.

Pant beats Kohli and Dhoni in the top ten sporting personalities:

Rishabh Pant, the young wicket-keeper-batsman, is the only other sportsperson to feature in the top ten list of the most searched people in the country. With this, he left Indian captain Virat Kohli and Legendary MS Dhoni behind.

The 22-year-old Pant has always been a hot topic for Indian cricket fans as well as experts and is ranked sixth in the list of most searched people in India.

Kabaddi surpasses IPL in World Games:

The Cricket World Cup was the most searched sporting event in India, while the Pro Kabaddi League ranks second in the list. Surprisingly, the Indian Premier League failed to make it to the top ten.

Wimbledon, Copa America, finished third, fourth and fifth is Australian Open. The Indian Super League, which is India's franchise-based football tournament, finished tenth.
