Bangladesh's under-23 men's team has won the gold medal in cricket in the 13th South Asian Games being played in Nepal. In the final match, they defeated Sri Lanka Under-23 team by 7 wickets.

Sri Lanka's team could only manage 122 runs in the first 20 overs of the match, and Bangladesh easily achieved this target by losing 3 wickets in 18.1 overs. Hasan Mehmood was adjudged Man of the Match for his superb bowling (20 runs, 3 wickets).

The bronze medal match was won by host Nepal. They defeated the Maldives by 5 wickets to win the bronze medal.

The Bangladesh team that won the gold medal won three of their 4 matches in the round-robin stage. Soumya Sarkar, who is a major part of Bangladesh's senior team, also took part in the South Asian Games from Bangladesh.

If we talk about Sri Lanka, they won all their matches in the round-robin stage and got the first place in the point table. Host Nepal won 2 matches and lost 2.

Let us tell you that the Under 23 team of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh took part and for this reason, only the matches played between Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives got the International status.
