Pant vs Karthik: Who will be a better option for WC 2019, See the recent performances

The Indian team 15-Member squad will be announced on 15th April (Monday) in Mumbai for the upcoming World Cup which is scheduled to start in England from 30th May. While Most of the players are almost certain but there is still some confusion about a few players in the team.

In the coming World Cup, the Indian team will play under the leadership of Virat Kohli. MS Dhoni, the most experienced player of the team, will be the key and main wicket-keeper batsman.

Apart from Dhoni, there is still doubt about the second or reserve wicketkeeper. It is certain that either Dinesh Karthik or Rishabh Pant will get the chance in the world cup team.

Dinesh Karthik's Recent Performance:

In the Asia Cup last year, the Indian team management showed confidence in Dinesh Karthik for the 4th position. He scored 145 runs in 4 innings with a remarkable average of 49. However, he was not selected for the domestic series against the West Indies.

Recently, In the 2nd ODI against Australia, Karthik gave India a victory by scoring 25 runs off 14 balls with a strike rate of 178.57 and In New Zealand, Karthik scored 38 runs in 2 matches, after which he was dropped against Australia in home series.

Rishabh Pant Recent Performance:

The left-hand wicket-keeper batsman has played just 5 ODIs so far and scored 93 runs at an average of 23.25 and a strike rate of 131.

He has tasted some success for India in Test cricket, but his style of batting is more favourable for the limited overs. Pant had performed brilliantly with the bat in England and Australia in the longer format.

Conclusion:

Pant has got only a few opportunities, But he has failed to capitalize on them and he has seen consistently playing the most irresponsible shots to get out, which may put his place in the world cup team in trouble.

If we analyse the stats of both the players, then surely Dinesh Karthik's chances are high, Now, It would be interesting to see who will get a place in the World Cup team.
