IPL 2019: Delhi beat RR by 6 wickets, Pant scores explosive 78 runs, 3 Big records broken

In the 40th match of IPL 2019, the Visitors Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals by 6 wickets in Jaipur and pushed Chennai Super Kings down to the second place to occupy the first place in the points table with 7 wins.

Rajasthan batted first and made a challenging total of 191/6 in 20 overs with the help of Ajinkya Rahane's imperious century. In response, Delhi Capitals scored 193/4 and won the match with 4 balls to spare. Rishabh Pant was adjudged 'Man of the Match' for his knock of 78* (36).

Rajasthan Royals Innings:

Earlier, Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, Royals started poorly, and Sanju Samson was run out for 5 in the 2nd over, but Rahane and Smith added a partnership of 130 runs off 72 balls for the second wicket.

Steve Smith was dismissed for 50, but Rahane continued to bat and completed his second IPL century in 58 balls. He played a magnificent inning of 105 runs in 63 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes and made the big contribution to take his team to 190.

Delhi Capitals Innings:

In reply, Shikhar Dhawan played a sensational inning of 54 runs in 27 balls and gave the team a great start and added 72 runs along with Prithvi Shaw 72 runs in 7.3 overs for the first wicket.

After two quick wickets, Rishabh Pant's fearless batting made the match in favour of Delhi. He made an 84-run partnership with Prithvi Shaw (42) for the third wicket.

Rishab Pant played a smoky inning of 78 runs in 36 balls and gave the team victory. For Rajasthan, Shreyas Gopal and Dhawal Kulkarni and Ryan Parag got one wicket each.
