In the fifth and final ODI of the series which was played between West Indies and England in Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, St.Lucia. Batting first, England were blown away by the Windies pace bowling for just 113 runs in 28.1 overs.
In reply, the host thrashed the visitors and chased down the target with the help of Chris Gayle's explosive knock of 77 off just 27 balls. For Windies, Oshane Thomas took 5 wickets for 21 runs and was adjudged 'Man of the Match' award.
The series finishes at 2-2 with Windies galloping to their target of 114 in just 12.1 overs. Phew, no one does it like Gayle. No one destroys bowling attacks like he does. He was so ruthless, so brutal, that England would've invoked a spate of human rights violations if this wasn't sporting.
The English bowlers were blown away, much like their batsmen were earlier in the day. It was a pitch with a great deal of pace and bounce in it, the fastest in the Caribbean, and the England batsmen dealt with the short deliveries with remarkable ineptness.
The hostile Oshane Thomas just blasted through the middle and lower orders for his maiden ODI five-for, closing things out to set up a target that Gayle would just walk all over.
