In 200 years of cricket history, it has happened only for the second time when a player has scored two double hundreds in a single match. Angelo Perera achieved this feat in the 4-day match played between the Nondescripts Cricket Club & the Sinhalese Sports Club.
Angelo Perera has achieved this feat in the Super 8 Premier League Tournament in Colombo. During this period, Nondescripts first batted and Angelo Perera scored the highest score of 201 runs for the club.
In response to Nondescript first innings score of 444, the Sinhalese Club finished with 480 runs. After that, in the second innings, Angelo Perera scored 231 runs off 268 balls and he became the only second batsman in the first class cricket history to score 2 double hundreds in the same match.
