Earlier, Batting first Team India were all-out for 252 in 49.5 overs. Rayudu played a match-winning knock of 90, apart from him Vijay Shankar scored 45 and Hardik Pandya smacked quick fire 45 off 22 to take India to a challenging total.

In reply, New Zealand couldn't chase the moderate target and bundle out for 217 in 44.1 overs, Chahal was the picks of the bowler with 3 wickets, while Shami and Hardik picked 2 wickets each.
