The England Cricket Board has declared the rules of the 100 ball cricket tournaments. The ECB had proposed this format in April last year and by the time it started, it would become the smallest format of professional cricket.
Under this format, 100 balls will be bowled in an innings and after every 10 balls, the bowling ends will be changed. While a bowler can consistently bowl 5 or 10 balls and cannot put more than 20 balls in the entire innings.
If we talk about the powerplay, A 25 ball powerplay will be given to the batting team at the start of the Innings. During this period, only 2 fielders can be placed outside the 30-yard circle. Apart from fielding regulations, the teams will get Strategic Time Out of 2.5 minutes.
This new playing Condition, which was passed last year by the England Cricket Board (ECB). To bring light to this new format, the ECB, asked the 18 first class county teams to cast their votes. And in the end, 17 votes were cast in favour of this format and one vote was against.
Last year, the ECB had announced that the tournament will be held in The Oval, Old Trafford, Lord's, Cardiff, Headingley, Trent Bridge, Edgbaston and Aegis Oval. Now, they will be looking at the selection of all the teams, their names and selection of kits, sponsors and jersey to make it grand.
