The BCCI and IPL governing council have announced the schedule for the 12th season of the mega tournament. Keeping in mind of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the officials have released the schedule for first two weeks of the league.

Meanwhile, in the initial phase of the tournament from 23rd to 5th April, a total of 17 matches will be played. However, the inaugural match of the tournament will be played between south derby Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore on 23rd March in MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

The live telecast of the opening match can be seen from 7:30 PM on Star Network in different languages and can be streamed like via internet on Hotstar and Jio TV.
