Australia has announced 15-member squad for the upcoming series of 2 T20I and 5 ODIs which will be played against India in India. Australia has announced its team right after bowling coach David Seeker announced his resignation.
The team will be led by Aaron Finch, while Alex Carry and Pat Cummins have been announced as vice-captains of the team. While 11 of the 15 players in the team have been members of the Australian team who lost the ODI series by 2-1 against India.
Unfortunately, Peter Siddle, Mitchell Marsh and Billy Stanlake, who were part of the Australian team in the ODI series at home against India, have not got a place in the team. In place of these three players, Kane Richardson, Coulter Nile and explosive batsman Aston Turner have been included.
Apart from these, opener Darcy Short has been included in the team as cover for Shaun Marsh. Shaun Marsh has been injured with a hamstring.
The two fast bowlers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood who were also expected to be included in the squad for the India tour. But, both of them have not been able to recover from their injuries. While Starc was injured during the Canberra Test against Sri Lanka and Hazlewood is suffering from back injury.
