On Tuesday, ICC has announced teams that have directly qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup, which is to be held in the year 2020. In a statement issued on its official website, the ICC said that with the host team 7 other teams got direct entry into the tournament
In the ICC Men's T20 Ranking, the teams, who are in Top-8, have got a direct entry for the Super-12 round, while the other 4 teams will play the qualifiers. There will be six other teams who will battle it out for the remaining 4 places.
These six teams will struggle in the qualifiers which will be held in 2019. Only four teams from the qualifier round will be able to make their place in the Super-12. Top-8 teams in the ICC T20 rankings, which includes Pakistan, India, England, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies and Afghanistan have entered the Super-12 directly, while Bangladesh and Sri Lanka must play with other 4 qualifier teams. The ICC Men's T20 tournament will be held in Australia from October 18 to November 15 in 2020 and the qualifiers will be held this year.
