IND vs NZ, 5th T20: India created history by winning the series 5-0, 8 Big records created

Despite the absence of skipper Viral Kohli in the final T20 match of the series played at the Oval, Team India defeated the hosts New Zealand by 7 wickets and won the 5-match series by 5-0.

Jasprit Bumrah wad adjudged 'Man of the Match' for his match-winning spell of 3 for 12. While KL Rahul won the 'Man of the Series' award, he scored 224 runs at an average of 56 in 5 innings.

India's Batting Performance:

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, Sanju Samson opened the innings along with Lokesh Rahul, but Sanju could not stay long and returned to the pavilion after scoring just 2 runs in 5 balls.


Captain Rohit Sharma came to bat at number 3 and scored brilliant 60 runs off 41 balls. While in-form KL Rahul played a knock of 45 runs in 33 balls, and Shreyas Iyer contributed important 33 runs in 31 balls and helped India to post a decent total of 163 runs in 20 overs.

New Zealand batting Performance:

In response, the Indian bowler started with a bang and picked 3 big wickets for just 17 runs with Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, and Tom Bruce all back to the pavilion.


Later, Tim Seifert and Ross Taylor then took over the innings and added 99 runs for the 4th wickets. Seifert and Ross Taylor scored a brilliant half-century, but could not take their team home and lost the match by 7 runs.
