Royal Challengers Bangalore have not won the title even once in the 12 seasons of the Indian Premier League so far. Although the team has reached the finals 3 times, they have lost all three times.
In 2009, the team led by Kevin Pietersen first reached to the finals but they had to face defeat. After this, the team reached the final under the captaincy of Daniel Vettori in 2011 and Virat Kohli in 2016 but could not win the title.
Many veteran players have played for RCB so far, who have contributed a lot to the team. Although there have been many veteran players who could not perform as well for RCB, after going to other teams, they showed a wonderful game.
1. Quinton de Kock:
In the 2018 auction, RCB bought de Kock for 28 million. He played 8 matches for the team that season, scoring only 201 runs at an average of 25.12. He scored just one half-century in these 8 matches.
After this, in the 2019 transfer window, Mumbai Indians traded Quinton de Kock from RCB for the same price Rs 2.8 crore. As soon as he moved to Mumbai Indians, de Cock showed a tremendous game.
He scored 529 runs for Mumbai Indians in the 2019 season in 16 matches at an average of 35.26 and a strike rate of 132.91. During this, he scored 4 fifties and played a key role in winning the IPL title to his team.
2. KL Rahul:
KL Rahul started his IPL career in 2013 for Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, in 2014, Sunrisers Hyderabad added him to their team. He re
turned to the RCB squad once again in the 2016 season. That season he scored 397 runs in 14 matches.
He performed well but hid behind legendary players like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. KL Rahul did not play in the 2017 season due to a shoulder injury and RCB did not retain him for the next season. In the 2018 auction, Kings XI Punjab bought him for a huge amount of 11 crores.
Opening for Kings XI Punjab in the 2018 season, KL Rahul scored 659 runs in 14 matches at an average of 54.91 and a brilliant strike rate of 158.41. He scored the fastest half-century in IPL history against Delhi in the first match itself.
However, RCB not only retained him for the next season but also captained the team in a few matches in the absence of Virat Kohli. But Watson flopped for RCB in the 2017 season as well. He scored just 71 runs in 8 matches.
RCB released him before the 2018 auction and Chennai Super Kings added Watson to their squad. Watson showed tremendous play as he moved to Chennai and scored 555 runs in 15 matches in the 2018 season.
