IND vs WI: Windies thrashed India by 8 wickets in 1st ODI, 7 Big records created together
In the first ODI played in Chennai, West Indies defeated India by 8 wickets and took 1-0 lead in the 3-match series.

After asking to bat first, Indian team scored above par score of 287/8 with the help of Rishabh Pant's 71 and Shreyas Iyer's 70. In response, the visitors reached the target in 47.5 overs, thanks to Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope's superb centuries.

1. India and West Indies have played 131 ODIs with eachother so far, and with this victory, West Indies have registered their 63rd while India has won 62.

2. Chasing the target of 288 runs in Chennai, the West Indies made a new record. Earlier the record was named after Australia, who had chased the target of 287 against New Zealand in 1996.

3. Shimron Hetmyer scored his fifth ODI century and all these centuries he scored in 85 or fewer balls.

4. Shai Hope scored his eighth ODI century. He completed his century in 149 balls, which is the slowest ODI century since 2010 by Tom Cooper of Netherlands (151 balls vs Afghanistan).

5. Hetmyer and Hope added 229 runs for the second wicket. The 2nd highest partnership by West Indies in ODIs against India. The record, in this case, is named after Sir Vivian Richards and Gordon Greenidge (221 runs, Jamshedpur 1983).

6. For the first time in the last 10 matches against West Indies, Virat Kohli (4) could not cross the double figures.

7. India made a unique record of not taking wickets even after bowling most overs by spinners in a match. In today's match, the spinners bowled 33 overs and didn't pick a single wicket.
