IPL 2020: Delhi Capitals and Shreyas Iyer reveals the captain of the team

Preparations have started for the next season of IPL. While, the player's auction will be held on December 19, but before that many players were exchanged and traded. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals have included 2 new faces before the auction, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane.

Ashwin was the captain of Kings XI Punjab last season at the same time Rahane has left the Rajasthan Royals, who has also captained the team. But now the question is who will be the captain of Delhi for IPL 2020.


Delhi has uploaded a video of Shreyas Iyer on his Twitter account, as well as captioned which made it is clear that Iyer will be Delhi's captain for the upcoming season. Delhi Capitals wrote in a tweet, 'Our illustrious leader Shreyas Iyer is excited to lead the team in IPL 2020. Experienced players have joined the team and an auction is going to be held soon, is our captain ready to take the team forward?

Now it's clear that Iyer will remain as the captain, not Ashwin or Rahane. In the video, Iyer says, "I am excited to have experienced players like Ashwin and Rahane in the team, the auction is eagerly awaited.


Shreyas Iyer recently performed well in a T20 series against Bangladesh. He had scored 108 runs in 3 matches at an average of 54 with a half-century.

It's worth mentioning that in IPL 2019, Delhi had reached the semi-finals by winning 9 out of 14 matches of the league stage where they lost to Chennai Super Kings. Now for the IPL 2020 once again the team will try to repeat the performance and win the title.
