Vijay Hazare Trophy: Mayank Agarwal's super knock takes Karnataka to the final

Mayank Agarwal, who scored a double century in the Test series against South Africa, broke Chhattisgarh's dream of playing the Vijay Hazare Trophy final match on Wednesday. Mayank Agarwal played a quick inning in the first semi-final match of Vijay Hazare Trophy in Bengaluru on Wednesday and led the Karnataka team to win the match by 9 wickets and also reach the final.

The day after the end of the Test series with South Africa, Mayank Agarwal came to play the semi-final match for his domestic team and scored an unbeaten 47-run knock in just 33 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes.


In the first semi-final match of Vijay Hazare Trophy, Karnataka team won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Chhattisgarh had scored 223 runs in 49.4 overs. Amandeep Khare scored 78 runs with the help of 4 fours in 102 balls, apart from him, no batsman should play a good knock.

On the other hand, for Karnataka, V Kaushik took 4 wickets for 46 runs, while Abhimanyu Mithun, Krishnappa Gautam and Praveen Dubey took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Karnataka started off strongly. KL Rahul and Devdutt added 155 runs in 30.5 overs for the first wicket. Karnataka's only wicket fell as Devdutt, which went to Ajay Mandal's account. After this KL Rahul and Mayank did not give any chance to the bowlers and led the team to the final.


Mayank Agarwal played a stormy inning of 47 runs while wicket-keeper batsman Lokesh Rahul remained unbeaten on 88 in 111 balls. Apart from them, opener Devuttatta Padikkal scored 92 runs off 98 balls. Let us tell you, Karnataka will play Tamil Nadu in Finals on October 25 in Bengaluru.
