WC 2019: Windies announce squad for WC, no place for Pollard, this dangerous All-rounders returns

The Windies cricket board has announced the 15 member Squad for upcoming Mega event ICC Cricket World Cup which is to be held in England from May 30, 2019, on Wednesday night. The selectors have made some tough decisions by leaving some match winners.

No place for Pollard and Narine:

After the spectacular show in IPL 2019, it was assumed that Kieron Pollard would get a place in the world cup team, but it has not happened. Pollard has played 10 matches in the season and has scored 195 runs at an average of 175.67. Apart from this, spinner Sunil Narine has also sidelined.

This dangerous All-rounders returns:

After the spectacular show in IPL, the dangerous Andre Russell has been included in the WC team. Russell played one-day cricket for the last time in July 2018 against Bangladesh.

However, he was included in the team for the last two ODIs against England in February, but due to injury, he was out of the series. This 30-year-old player has scored at a strike-rate of 217.77 in 10 matches of IPL so far and scored 392 runs at an average of 65.33.

Apart from Russell, fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell and Shannon Gabriel have also made the place. While Wicket-keeper Nicholas Pooran has been included in the team as a backup for Shai Hope.
