IPL 2019: KKR defeated Rajasthan by 8 wickets, Moved to first place, 2 big records created

In the 21st Match, the mighty Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets in Jaipur and register their fourth win and moves to first place in the points table.

Rajasthan Royals batted first and scored just 139 runs in 20 overs. In response, the KKR team chased the target in the 14th overs and won the match by 8 wickets. Playing his first IPL match, Harry Gurney was named Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling performance (2/25).

Rajasthan Royals Innings:

Earlier, Dinesh Karthik won the toss and opted to field first. Batting first, Rajasthan Royals started their innings on a poor note,  captain Ajinkya Rahane was out for just 5 runs. After this Jos Buttler added an important partnership of 72 with Steve Smith for the second wicket.

Butler scored 37 runs in 34 balls and Steve Smith completed his half-century and played an unbeaten inning of 73 runs off 59 balls and helped his team to reach a respectable total of 139/3 in 20 overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders Innings:

In response, the Kolkata Knight Riders started the chased on an aggressive manner. Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine added 91 runs in just 8.3 overs for the first wicket. Sunil Narine scored 47 off 25 and Chris Lynn scored 50 off 32 balls.

However, after this Robin Uthappa took KKR home with unbeaten 26* run knock along with Shubhaman Gill (6) and won the match with 37 balls to spare. For Rajasthan Royals, Shreyas Gopal took two wickets.
