KXIP vs MI: Punjab beats Mumbai by 8 wickets, Rahul scores 71 runs, Gayle creates history

The Kings XI Punjab team, playing in front of home ground has defeated the Rohit's Mumbai Paltans in an exciting encounter. Mumbai, who had batted first and posted the target of 177 runs in front of Punjab. In response Punjab chased down the target by losing just 2 wickets in 18.4 overs.

Lokesh Rahul who had a slow start in the beginning, but later scored a fine half-century. Apart from him, Gayle and Mayank made an important contribution in the team's victory.

Mumbai Indians Innings:

Earlier, Punjab's captain Ashwin won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first. Opener Rohit and de Kock gave the team a great start and added 51 runs.

Rohit was batting in an aggressive manner, but unfortunately he was dismissed for 32 runs off 18 balls and de Kock scored 60 off 39 balls. In the end, Hardik Pandey's 31 off 19 balls helped Mumbai to post a decent total of 176 runs in 20 overs.

Kings XI Punjab Innings:

Chris Gayle has completed 300 sixes in the IPL, he is the only player in the IPL history to complete this milestone. While no other batsmen are even close to him by any means. AB De Villiers who has scored 192 sixes is in second place and Dhoni is in third place with 187 sixes.
