IND vs AUS: Indian team creates history in Nagpur, becomes 2nd team to achieve this record


Virat Kohli's amazing century and the fiery death bowling by Jasprit Bumrah and Vijay Shankar's last over 2 wickets sealed an exciting 8-run victory over the visitors in the second one-day on Tuesday in the Orange city Nagpur and India go 2-0 head in the 5-match series.

Kohli played a brilliant inning and laid the foundation for the victory. He played a wonderful knock of 116 runs off 120 balls with the help of 10 boundaries.

Apart from Kohli, Vijay Shankar scored 46 off 41 balls and was able to give good support to the captain. Both of them added 81 runs for the 4th wicket and helped India to a challenging total of 250 runs in 48.2 overs.

In reply, Captain Aaron Finch (37) and Usman Khawaja (38) gave Australia a great start of 83 runs for the first wicket. Later, Peter Handscomb was playing well for 48 before Jadeja ran him out.

After them, Marcus Stoinis (52) took Australia close to the target. But in the end Australia was bowled out for 242 in 49.3 overs and lost the match by 8 runs. For India, Kuldeep took 3 wickets for 54, Bumrah 2 for 29 runs and Vijay Shankar 2 for 15.

The Indian team today registered their 500th win in ODIs, with this victory India has become only the second team in the history of one-day cricket to win 500 matches after Australia.
