CSK vs RCB: 3 Records that can be broken in the first match of IPL 2019

The 12th edition of the Indian Premier League is just hours away from us and every fan is vigorously waiting for the opening encounter which is scheduled to be played on 23rd March, Saturday.

The first match of IPL 2019 will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium.

While many records can be broken on Saturday, so now let's talk about 3 major records that can break in the opening match.

1. Suresh Raina on the verge of creating history:

Suresh Raina has been phenomenal in IPL, he has scored 4985 runs in 176 matches at an average of 34.38 and scored his runs at the strike rate of 138.43. At the same time,  he has scored 1 century and 35 half-centuries.

If Suresh Raina scores 15 runs in the first match against RCB then he would complete 5000 runs and can also become the first player to achieve this big milestone.

2. Virat Kohli needs 42 runs to complete 5000 runs in IPL:

RCB skipper Virat Kohli has scored 4958 runs so far and needs just 42 runs more to complete 5000 runs in IPL. If Virat Kohli reached 5000 runs before Raina he can become the first player to complete 5000 runs in IPL history.

3. AB De Villiers needs 47 runs to complete 4000 runs in IPL:

Former South African captain AB De Villiers has scored 3953 runs in IPL so far. During this period, he has also scored 3 centuries and 28 half-centuries.

If de Villiers scores 47 runs in the first match against CSK, he will complete his 4000 IPL runs and will become second foreign player after David Warner to complete 4000 runs in IPL.
