IPL 2019: KKR defeats Hyderabad by 6 wickets, Russell smashed 49 runs, 3 records created

In the 2nd match of IPL 2019, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Batting first Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 181/3, in response, KKR won the match by 6 wickets in the last over. Andre Russell was adjudged man of the match for his explosive innings of 49 off just 19 balls.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, David Warner and Johnny Bairstow added 118 runs for the opening wickets Sunrisers Hyderabad, gave a good start of 118 runs. Bairstow was dismissed by Piyush Chawla for 39 and Warner scored 85 runs.

Russell played a brilliant inning of 49 runs with the help of four sixes and four fours off just 19 balls and added 65 runs partnership with Shubhaman Gill for the fifth wicket and took his team home with 2 balls to spare.
