Windies almost chased 419 target in 4th ODI, Gayle scores 162 runs, 8 records broken

In the 4th match of the 5-match ODI series, which was played between West Indies and England in Grenada on Wednesday. The hosts almost chased down the impossible target of 419 set by England. Windies scored 389/10 in 48 overs and lost the match by 29 runs.

Wow! What match! We have seen a thriller at the National Cricket Stadium in Grenada. The rain abandoned the third match on Monday. But today, the rain droplets were replaced by the cricket balls and it was raining sixes.

Batting first, England scored a monstrous score of 418 for 6 wickets in 50 overs. Jos Buttler played an unbelievable knock of 150 runs of just 77 balls, apart from him England captain Eoin Morgan (103 off 88) also scored a fantastic century.

In reply to the huge target, Windies lost two early wickets but the Universe Boss was at his lethal best. He was smashing sixes left, right and centre and at one point the target of 419 was looking well within reach. But Stokes smashed the stumps of Gayle for the personal score of 162 runs and that triggered a collapse.

Ashley Nurse and Brathwaite put up a brilliant partnership for the seventh and at 389/6 Windies were back as favourites to win the game, needing 32 of last 3 overs.

But, the England skipper, showed the courage when it mattered and gave the ball to Rashid in the 48th over and it turned out to be phenomenal over as he picked up four wickets and sealed the thrilling match for England, with this the visitors go up 2-1 with one to match play in St Lucia on 2nd March.
