Suresh Raina creates a rare record, becomes the first Indian player to achieve this

India's talented and dangerous middle order batsmen Suresh Raina has created a rare record to his name. He has become the first Indian player to score 8000 runs in T20 cricket.

Playing for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019, Raina achieved this milestone in the match against Puducherry and created history.

Raina has scored 8001 runs in 300 T20 matches and has become the sixth player to score most runs in T20 cricket after, Gayle McCullum, Pollard, Malik and Warner. Apart from this, Raina also becomes the 2nd Indian players to play 300 T20 matches after MS Dhoni.

Apart from Raina (8001), Virat Kohli (7833) and Rohit Sharma (7795) have scored the most number of runs in T20 for India and soon both the batsmen can cross the landmark of 8000 T20 runs.

Raina has played 176 matches in IPL and 78 matches in international T20. Raina is the highest run scorer in IPL with 4985 runs.

However, he is currently running out of the Indian team and is currently playing for his state team in the domestic T20 tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he has just a scored superb half-century.

Suresh Raina will be looking to maintain his for the remaining matches of the domestic T20 tournament and can prepare himself for the upcoming IPL season for Chennai Super Kings once again.
