PAK vs SA: South Africa beat Pakistan in a thrilling 1st T20 by 6 runs, Shoaib breaks Rohit's big record

In the first match of the 3-match T20 series, between South Africa and Pakistan which was played in Newlands, Capetown on Friday. In this match, South Africa beat World No.1 Pakistan by 6 runs in the thrilling encounter which finished in the last over.Pakistan scored 186 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in reply to South Africa's 193, lost the match by just 6 runs and with this victory South Africa took 1-0 lead in the 3-match series.

Earlier, Shoaib Malik won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, South Africa had a poor start but Captian Faf Du Plessis and Reeza Hendricks added a huge 131 partnership for the 2nd wicket, Du Plessis scored 78 (44) and Reeza Hendricks scored 74 (41) and posted 192 for 6 in 20 overs. Chasing the target of 193, Pakistan lost the wicket of Fakhar Zaman in the first of the Innings on 4 runs. Later, Hussein Talat and Babar Azam added important partnership of 81 for the second wicket, but David Miller's direct hit ended Babar Azam's Innings at 38.

Captain Shoaib Malik's 49-run innings could not save Pakistan, as he was dismissed in last over when the team needed 16 to win the match. This is the first loss for Pakistan in last 11 T20ls.

David Miller might have struggled while batting, but he was the main difference between the two teams. He took 4 catches and made 2 important runouts, for this spectacular fielding effort he was chosen as the 'Player of the Match'.

Shoaib Malik almost took his team home single-handedly but was dismissed for 49 off 31 balls with the help of 5 fours and 1 six. With this knock, Shoaib Malik has left Rohit Sharma behind to become the second highest run scorer in T20ls after Guptill.
