Recently, BCCI announced the Indian team for the T20 and one-day series against Australia and everyone was surprised when Dinesh Karthik was dropped from the ODI team while he was retained in the T20 team.

It's worth mentioning that, Dinesh Karthik made his International debut in 2004 and his career was unstable as he had unable to represent the Indian team regularly. But after the knock in the Nidahas trophy final against Bangladesh, he was drafted into the team again. Dinesh Karthik had a good opportunity to show his worth in the team in the recently concluded Australia-New Zealand tour. But unfortunately he had a poor outing, In two ODIs against New Zealand Karthik scored 38 runs and was out for a duck in one match which India lost. And in 3 ODIs against Australia, he scored just 37 runs.
