INDW vs NZW: India thrashed New Zealand by 9 wickets, Mandhana hits century, see the scorecard

A day after Indian men's team thrashed the New Zealand team on 23rd January. The Mithali Raj led Indian women's team also beat New Zealand women's team in the first ODI. Indian defeated New Zealand by nine wickets in the one-day match played in Napier on 24th January.

Earlier batting first, New Zealand's team could not even play 50 at Napier's McLean Park. The whole team of New Zealand was dismissed for 192 in 48.5 overs. Suzie Bates scored 38 runs for New Zealand, while Ekta Bisht took 3 wickets for 32 runs.

Smriti Mandhana hits impressive century:

The Indian team achieved the target of 193 runs in 33 overs. Smriti Mandhana and young player Jemima Rodrigues batted brilliantly. Smriti Mandhana (105) scored a spectacular century, while the 18-year-old Jemima Rodrigues scored unbeaten 81*

Smriti Mandhana and Jemima Rodrigues shared a 190-run partnership for the first wicket. This is the highest opening stand for Indian women against New Zealand.

Smriti Mandhana scored 105 runs off 104 balls, during this time she scored 9 fours and 3 massive sixes. Playing only 5th International match, Jemima Rodrigues scored 9 fours in the knock of 81-runs

India has taken a 1-0 lead in the series by winning the first match of the 3-match ODI series. The 2nd ODI match of the series will be played on January 29 in Mount Maunganui.
