Imam creates history, becomes 2nd fastest to achieve this record, left Viv Richards behind

The Pakistani team is currently playing a 5-match ODI series against South Africa. In the 3rd ODI of the series, Pakistan's 23-year-old opener Imam ul Haq has made history by completing his 5th in Super Sports Park, Centurion.
Earlier, Pakistan decided to bat first and posted a huge total of 317 for 6 wickets in 50 overs. Imam-ul-Haq scored 101, apart from him Babar Azam contributed 69 and All-rounders Imad Wasim smashed South African bowlers in the later part with unbeaten 43 of just 23 balls.

Imam ul Haq, who scored 101 runs off 116 balls with the help of 8 fours in the 3rd ODIs, has created history and became the second fastest to complete 1000 runs in ODIs.
During this time, Imam left Babar Azam and also legendary Viv Richards of the West Indies behind. Imam achieves this feat in his 19th Innings while Babar and Viv Richards completed 1000 runs in 21 Innings.
However, in the case of completing 1000 runs in fewest Innings, the record is named after Fakhar Zaman who achieved this milestone in 18 Innings while Imam missed equaling this record by just one Inning.

The world record of completing 1000 runs quickest in ODIs is named after Fakhar Zaman, he completed 1000-runs in his 18th innings. If we talk about Indian batsmen, Skipper Virat Kohli achieved this big milestone in his 24th ODI Innings.
